Wildlife And Wilderness Photography
I don’t really fancy myself as a photographer. Some of these pictures are good photos. Some are not. Nearly all were taken with a simple point and shoot camera. For me it’s not so much about the art of photography, but more about witnessing and spending time with these beautiful creatures. I, myself, am mostly content to just stay rapt in the present moment with them, in awe of their grace, power, and beauty. I really only take pictures to help others appreciate the diverse and precious flora and fauna of our wondrous world, and perhaps to share my own my joy at such blessed encounters. I have evolved my life to the point where I spend the majority of my time in the vast wildernesses of America, inspired by my deep affection for, and connection to, Nature. To me, the natural world is the very face of God, the portrait of God’s grace and glory, and I feel that a life lived amongst the grey and angular confines of civilization is a poor and miserable existence, a squandered life.
