Short Poems
In my heart of hearts I am first and foremost a poet before I consider myself a musician or songwriter. I have written poems since I was a boy. To me poems are a vehicle to explore the human soul, which is in truth, indivisible from the soul of Nature. Poetry, like music, is a language of the heart that bypasses the analytical, grasping, strategic mind. It arises from one’s inner being, and can only be articulated and appreciated through a state of contemplative quietude. For this reason, in this hectic, distracted, and materialistic world, there is little love for poetry anymore. In fact, it is often mocked. Even those who do feel attracted to poetry often lack the attention span, focus, and sensitivity to penetrate it’s depths. For this reason I have made this collection of shorter, bite-sized, poems for general consumption. I originally posted most of these on Instagram, which is why they are in a square format conjoined with images borrowed from the internet. I am proud of these poems; They are my heart, the distillation of all my passions, sufferings, and experience, signposts along the path to Awakening, and I consider them to be amongst the most worthy and valuable offerings of my incarnation. I will continually and prolifically update this page with fresh poems as my journey continues. I encourage sharing of all my content.
